As GC 1.2.8.13 in Xubuntu 11.10 doesn't work with the general MIME type
files it usually doesn't open files in an applications on double click.
In a lot of cases it assigns the wrong application and despite the
change button being shown in the properties one can not change the file
association. Pretty bad as one can only see what files are there but
they can't be opened.
