Thanks for reporting this issue.
I was able to reproduce this issue when I attempted to run qgis on
Ubuntu Precise. When it crashed, apport showed a dialog which allowed me
to submit a bug report automatically. Since this gathers files and extra
information regarding the crash which is useful for developers I filed a
new bug. Therefore I'm marking this as a duplicate of bug 941421.
Feel free to report any bugs you might come across in the future.
