Public bug reported:

If no Google Chrome (not Chromium) is running, and Chrome is pinned to
the Unity launcher then a NEW Chrome icon appears at the bottom of the
Unity bar rather than using the pinned icon.

Google Chrome is set as the default browser and is the only installed
browser on the system.
