I was assisting Campbell and while troubleshooting we were able to
progress to a state where sync is possible (but does not work fully
yet).
Somehow it seems that "Documents on iPod" was the device that was
showing up in banshee. Opening banshee, unmounting the devices from
nautilus and plugging the iPod back in causes the "iPod" device to show
up in Banshee. Sync seems to work on the computer end, but opening Music
app on the iPod does not show the newly sync'd songs.
