I'm getting this same problem, but with one difference: my icons are all
spread out vertically. They're much farther apart than they were before.
The thing is, I don't know if it's as simple as a nouveau bug for me.
It had been working properly for months. I went away for vacation for
ten days, without turning off my computer or even logging out; and when
I came back, all my icons were invisible.
