Sorry, I should have been more specific about how the thinkpad mouse
works.

The thinkpad has a normal laptop fingerpad with two buttons. It also has
a little joystick like knob on the keyboard between the 'g' 'h' and 'b'
keys. It also has ANOTHER set of buttons, but this time 3. The way the
middle mouse button works is that if you click and hold it down, then
move the knob, the focused window will scroll instead of moving the
mouse.
