Public bug reported:

System setup:
- Newly installed Ubuntu
- Boot into Unity 2D
- no windows or applications should have started yet

Steps to Repro:
1. Open Dash by clicking on BFB, or hitting Super key
--or--
2. Open Hud by tapping Alt key

Expected Result:
Dash/HUD opens

Actual Result:
Crash. See attached BT.

Crash due to fact that Unity 2D tries to get the XId of the active
window, without first checking there is an active window.
