Running swapoff before hand worked here.. It still delayed at 15% for an uncomfortable minute. The mouse pointer wouldn't budge! My first attempt also failed because I tried to use an existing 2GB partition for root (too small), and I changed the mount point to "/" thinking that "/mnt/root" was a bug caused by my previous attempt at FC5. I eventually went with the Guided 10GB /mnt/root default.
I also found out that my HDMI->DVI caused the resolution to be limited to 5xxX3xx. This was corrected when I switched to an straight HDMI cable. I use the prior because my TV flickers (negotiation issue I think) only when connected to the PS3 using HDMI->HDMI (atleast with older firmwares). For reference, I have the 1.80 Playstation 3 firmware (not that I think it matters - I'm just juicy-ing up the keywords). As for "etc..", I also stopped cupsys. For applets I opened the Session Properties and stopped nautilus along with the network applets, evolution applets, update-notifier, and others. The gnome keyring manager doesn't start until the end of the process, so I waited and killed him too. I must admit, I was able to defeat the Hell Wyrm in less time than it took to install Feisty Fawn on the PS3, and the Wyrm has 8 million HP. The Fawn could be a powerful boss for Final Fantasy XIII. -- Ubuntu for PS3 freezes during install https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/108723 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
