Tried 3.3RC6 which is now available. This kernel seems much more stable with the usb3 card. My testing was not truly extensive, since using this kernel is problematic w/ my machine and oneiric (e.g. no graphics - I have nvidia, no standard boot - only text mode recovery works). However, I experienced no hard freezes, and the usb devices appear to be working (without those tons of weird logs).
Would be nice if the 3.3 usb3 changes could be backported to oneiric. ** Summary changed: - Via VL800 usb3 pci card almost unusable in oneiric + Via VL800 usb3 pci card causes hard kernel locks in oneiric -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/944791 Title: Via VL800 usb3 pci card causes hard kernel locks in oneiric To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/944791/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
