The log file shows there were problems with the shadow password store
which makes sense as a point of failure:
e.g.:
Apr 16 13:10:53 debootstrap: chage: the shadow password file is not present
Apr 16 13:10:53 debootstrap: chage failed with return code 15, shadow not
enabled, password aging cannot be set. Continuing.
As there are no updates to this bug for about a year now and this bug was
against a release candidate I will close it for now. Feel free to reopen any
time if necessary.
