But I changed in the before mentioned way. So the keys are working as they should $ xprop -root | grep XKB ==> _XKB_RULES_NAMES(STRING) = "xorg", "jp106", "jp", "", "" $ gconftool-2 -R /desktop/gnome/peripherals/keyboard/kbd ==> (no output) I have XUbuntu installed. Not Gnome.
