Turned off wireless by rmmodding the ath5k module. It soon resulted in another kernel oops without a system freeze. X server did crash though. Linux 2.6.38-13-generic #56-Ubuntu SMP Tue Feb 14 12:40:40 UTC 2012 i686 i686 i386 GNU/Linux
Now I see a this line in the oops message: last sysfs file: /sys/devices/pci0000:00/0000:00:14.4/0000:09:02.0/net/eth1/statistics/collisions Not sure if it may give a clue, found this http://us.generation-nt.com/answer/patch-sysfs-remove-last-sysfs-file-line-oops-messages-help-203317852.html It talks about a patch to turn off his message in the 3* versions, because the "last fs file" is irrelevant. So is it irrelevant? The oops message is attached anyways -- ** Attachment added: "kern_oops" https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/922976/+attachment/2832916/+files/kern_oops -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/922976 Title: kernel oopses: possible ath5k/AR2413 wireless bug To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/922976/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
