You have a point, but it's not related to my primary issue. I'm using a dual-DVI cable, however the mobo (Asus P8H61I / http://www.asus.com/Motherboards/Intel_Socket_1155/P8H61I/ ) only supports DVI with Max. Resolution 1920 x 1200 @60Hz. The highest available for me was 1600x1200 and 1680x1050. If I'd been using HDMI I'd expect at least 1920x1080.
My primary issue was that the default resolution both when installing and when starting the installed OS for the first time was 720x400, which is so low that it makes it really hard to change. (You don't get to see the entire config-screen, since the config-screen is at least 600 pixels high...) This is a bad experience for first-time installers and is likely to put them off without even trying Ubuntu. --- I noticed the same problem when I afterwards tried to install ubuntu 11.10... (Resolution set to 720x400, and the "Apply" button in "change display resolution" config window is outside the visible area on screen) -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/949434 Title: Problems with resolution To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xserver-xorg-video-intel/+bug/949434/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
