I tried the latest 3.3.0 rc6 kernel that you linked and the same problem was there. There was little to no difference betwen the two kernels when it came to this crash. The easiest way to cause this crash is to rearrange the monitors in the display options and press apply. That will instantly crash the machine on both kernels
