Hello Colin, Thanks for your repsonse. I'm sorry but I have cleaned the drive for another attempt, this time I will be attempting to load Kubuntu as sole occupant of the disk.
To ensure a clean disk I am using O&O File Shredder, any comments would be welcome, Linux is verry new to me but must be better than Windows XP. I have made a clean install of XP Pro and the following day it was blue screening. Will be intouch if any problems.
