Hey Alan, Yet another thing to try. The manufacturer has an EDID flasher posted for this monitor on the product downloads page for the VA2012. I couldn't find any documentation explaining what it is, but my guess it's to fix exactly this sort of problem...
http://www.viewsoniceurope.com/uk/products/archive/va2012w.htm The service manual also lists out the EDID data explicitly: http://www.go-gddq.com/upload/2011-07/11071316324654.pdf ** Changed in: xserver-xorg-video-intel (Ubuntu) Status: New => Incomplete -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/927155 Title: [snb-m-gt2+] Viewsonic VA2012w not correctly detected (Invalid EDID) To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xserver-xorg-video-intel/+bug/927155/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
