The flash occurs about 14 seconds after the kernel is selected and boot begins. I let grub time out rather than hit enter because I was recording it with a video camera, but I don't suppose that makes any difference.
If the problem is specific to the machine and a solution isn't readily available, is there some sort of workaround I could use. Maybe not load graphical stuff during boot (before the Ubuntu logo, at least)? As for choosing to report against Plymouth, that was my best guess at the time. :) -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/950397 Title: bright screen flash during bootup on EeePC 900 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/plymouth/+bug/950397/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
