So here the result of my last post: Running now for the last 10h without problems or freezes.
Summary: 11.10: Installer picked nouveau for nvidia graphic and worked (with problems mirroring external screens, but that's a different issue) installation of nvidia-common (to try the external screen thing) led to freeze of desktop within minutes (3D & 2D). 12.04: Installer picked nvidia-common with the same result as above. Freeze of desktop within minutes (3D & 2D). Removing nvidia-common and running nouveau helped against it. Hope this helps, Klaus -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/947443 Title: Ubuntu 12.04 Beta 1 desktop freezes To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/compiz/+bug/947443/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
