Rémi,

Removed vlcrc, restarted VLC, but the problem persists...

Then, added a small directory of files. VLC performs as expected.
That's when I sent the all OK test results yesterday. But, after further
testing, the issue seems to be related to the number of files in the
playlist.

My files are arranged thusly:

Top level directory: "DrumClasses"
Next level directory: "TeacherName"
Next Level directory: "RhythmName"
Next Level files: "AssortedFiles" (usually between 10 and 20 files of
various formats)

Adding dir RhythmName, I cannot make VLC freeze with a dozen or two of
files.
Adding dir RhythmName with two files of 500+Mb each, I cannot make VLC
freeze.
Adding dir TeacherName (228 files), VLC hits 100% after forwarding 4-5
files.

However: Adding dir RhythmName *ONE AT A TIME* until the playlist has
all the files under dir TeacherName does NOT make VLC freeze.

Strange behavior indeed.
