Public bug reported:

Ubuntu: 11.10
KDE

Here are the steps to reproduce:

1. Click "Kick-off application launcher" (start button at the left-lower corner
of screen)
2. type "ubuntu software center"
3. click on the application in question.

Result: The software center will appear minimized in the panel for a
while, and then will simply disappear.

However, I can launch it by:

a. in Terminal, type: "sudo /usr/bin/software-center"
b. in a run box (type "ALT F2"), type software centre and start the application.

By using these two methods, the application starts just fine. But the
initial method I presented fails. Please note that this used to work
before; it's only today that it stopped working.

Thanks,
Vincent.
