my current and newly installed Ubuntu works fine, and therefore I am not
able to supply more and precise details yet.

Therefore keep my report on low priority until somebody else will notify
a similar effect. Myself I will try to find out more details if I run
in the same kind of troubles again (hopefully never :-).
