Linux 3.2.0-18 had been installed in my system, some days before. But
the system hangs while booting through it. So I changed the order of
kernel using Grub Customizer and taken the old kernel (3.2.0-17) as
default.

I have tried the recovery mode of the new kernel. Some of the important
messages (I think) showing in recovery mode are given below:-

[0.705337] VFS: Cannot open root device "sda3" or unknown-block(0,0)
[0.705405] Please append a correct "root=" boot option; here are the available
partitions
[0.705491] Kernel panic - not syncing: VFS: Unable to mount root fs on unknown
block(0,0)
[0.705575] Pid:1, comm:swapper/0 Not tainted 3.2.0-18-generic pae #29-Ubuntu
