I experience the same segfaulting as described while on LM12, GNOME 3.2.1 using ATI Catalyst drivers, except mine is always preceded by an HDMI hot plug event. I switched to the proprietary drivers specifically because while using the open radeon drivers, the EDID handshake often failed to complete when returning from suspend necessitating a reboot. The segfaulting occurs most often (~2 times per five minutes, sometimes in succession) when multiple users sessions are used and web browsers using hardware acceleration are being used.

Could VRAM management be an issue? -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/889706 Title: Gnome-shell randomly crashes To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/linuxmint/+bug/889706/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
