In the meantime the driver is included in Kernel version linux-image-3.0.24-030024-generic-pae. So installing the new Kernel is perhaps easier:
1) You can get the Kernel from here: This is where you get all the mainline kernel http://kernel.ubuntu.com/~kernel-ppa/mainline/ We need this Version: v3.0.24-oneiric/ from here: http://kernel.ubuntu.com/~kernel-ppa/mainline/v3.0.24-oneiric/linux-image-3.0.24-030024-generic-pae_3.0.24-030024.201203121435_i386.deb (This is for 32 bit OS) 2) Go to the folder where the Kernel is and install the Kernel sudo apt-get install linux-image-3.0.24-030024-generic-pae or this (Which is pretty much the same) sudo dpkg -i linux-image-3.0.24-030024-generic- pae_3.0.24-030024.201203121435_i386.deb 3) Restart and the Sitecom X1 WLA-1000 USB Adapter 150N should be supported. Thats it! (I performed this on Ubuntu 10.04 32 bit.) ----------------------- To all the Sitecom staff out there: Why dont you make sure that your products are supported by linux from the first second on? -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/905033 Title: rtl8712: Sitecom Wireless Network USB Micro Adapter 150N X1 WLA-1000 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/905033/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
