Public bug reported:
I am running Dapper Drake (6.06) and have done so for a couple of months
very happily and without any sort of regret. I have kept my WinXp OS
just in case (thank god) and am currently using it to post this. On may
28, and without any intervention from me, my Ubuntu desktop decided to
stop allowing me to surf the web or reach any network. The broadband
cable modem is fine as I can use it on WinXp to gain net access.
I have had a really terrible time as I hate the idea of going back to
WinXp but think will be inevitable as I have had no decent solution to
this problem. Here are a couple of things that churn out from some
commands I have found other people have used...PLease let me know if you
can help...I think I will wait till monday and then kill ubuntu and go
back to crappy MS Windows..Sorry, terrible mood...linux should be for
human beings.
This is what I get back form the terminal when I type ifconfig #
[EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$ ifconfig #

It seems to stay the same after a networking restart...which, by the
way, comes back to me with this...
[EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$ sudo /etc/init.d/networking restart
