** Description changed:

  I recently installed Ubuntu on a EXT2 partition (dual boot with win7) and
upgraded it to precise pangolin, it's just amazing. (if I ignore the errors;
every day there are less errors, updating helps)
  but Ubuntu 12.04 can't boot with the 3.2 kernel, it says "kernel panic"
-unable to mount root..blahblah some numbers
  however if I select kernel 2.6 ... 64 in grub it boots almost normally (but
it is doing a disk check on every startup, that's a bit annoying)

  my hardware:
  Packard bell easy note,
  Celeron(R) Dual-Core CPU T3000 @ 1.80GHz × 2 (x64)
  GPU: Mobile Intel® GM45 Express Chipset
  160 GB HDD (as far as I know samsung.) 10gb for ubuntu
  1,9 GiB ram
