Public bug reported: I want to install the normal Mozilla version of Firefox in Ubuntu but it seems I cannot without my system becoming unstable. I uninstalled xul- ext-ubufox from synaptic, but when I next logged in and launched Firefox, Ubuntu immediately crashed straight out to the login screen. (I'm using Ubuntu with Unity.)
I dislike operating systems tightly integrating things such as internet browser (as Microsoft did with Internet Explorer) so I just want the plain vanilla Firefox. But when I tried to install Firefox on its own a while ago I could not set it as my default browser. I asked a question about this on http://askubuntu.com/questions/100693/how-can-i-manually- change-the-default-web-browser but was told that this is a bug and to report it, hence this bug report. ** Affects: ubuntu Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/958444 Title: Cannot install Mozilla version of Firefox To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bug/958444/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
