Hi Sam

a week ago, it worked.

I changed the

/usr/share/applications/gnome-system-log.desktop

to :

[Desktop Entry]
Name=Log File Viewer
Comment=View or monitor system log files
TryExec=gnome-system-log
Exec=gnome-system-log
Icon=logview
Terminal=false
Type=Application
StartupNotify=false
Categories=GTK;GNOME;System;Monitor;
NotShowIn=KDE;
X-GNOME-DocPath=gnome-system-log/gnome-system-log.xml
X-GNOME-Bugzilla-Bugzilla=GNOME
X-GNOME-Bugzilla-Product=gnome-utils
X-GNOME-Bugzilla-Component=logview
X-GNOME-Bugzilla-Version=3.3.1
X-Ubuntu-Gettext-Domain=gnome-system-log

now it works again from the launcher

Together with this problem I also noticed that the

gnome-screenshot

is not capturing the screen selection anymore.

How about yours?

Cheers

coco
