I didn't have to add myself to "dialout" in previous version. I would
guess that this non-dialout configuration would cause this bug and other
problems that would not be easy to fix for non linux-experts? This bug
probably should be moved from "kernel" bug to "groups"/configuration
bug, but I don't know how...

** Description changed:

I have tried to connect USB-serial devices to Ubuntu 12.04 64-bit, and
usb-serial devices won't connect. Although it shows up in dmesg, and
- shows up in /dev/ttyUSB0, it isn't detected. I've tried several obdii
- tools with a usb-serial obdii connector, and tried connecting a device
- via a Java project that had previously worked. Neither of these worked,
- but they worked in 10.04 32-bit.
+ shows up in /dev/ttyUSB0, it isn't detected, since the default
+ configuration doesn't seem to add user to "dialout" group. I've tried
+ several obdii tools with a usb-serial obdii connector, and tried
+ connecting a device via a Java project that had previously worked.
+ Neither of these worked when not in "dialout" group.
