Public bug reported:
Binary package hint: openssh-client
Hello, I'm new to Ubuntu, and just installed hte 7.04 version for AMD64.
The ssh client is not working out of the box, at least for me. I've run an
strace of it, but I'm clueless of where to look further. I tried some forums
and some searches on Google, but couldn't find similar problems. Here's the
output of strace:
[EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$ strace ssh
execve("/usr/bin/ssh", ["ssh"], [/* 30 vars */]) = 0
brk(0) = 0x5555557a3000
mmap(NULL, 4096, PROT_READ|PROT_WRITE, MAP_PRIVATE|MAP_ANONYMOUS, -1, 0) =
0x2adecf011000
uname({sys="Linux", node="sauron", ...}) = 0
access("/etc/ld.so.nohwcap", F_OK) = -1 ENOENT (No such file or directory)
mmap(NULL, 8192, PROT_READ|PROT_WRITE, MAP_PRIVATE|MAP_ANONYMOUS, -1, 0) =
0x2adecf012000
access("/etc/ld.so.preload", R_OK) = -1 ENOENT (No such file or directory)
arch_prctl(ARCH_SET_FS, 0x2adecf013530) = 0
--- SIGSEGV (Segmentation fault) @ 0 (0) ---
+++ killed by SIGSEGV (core dumped) +++
Process 6424 detached
I don't know what this could be, as it's very early in the initialization of
the program. I was using Gentoo for years, and wanted to try Ubuntu.
Thanks.
