Ah, you're running ubuntu inside a virtual environment.
Virtual environments do some mouse cursor remapping which sometimes
doesn't work right. We've seen offset or missing cursors in kvm,
virtualbox, vmware, etc. So this could well be just a bug in Parallels.
Thanks for following up, glad the issue went away; I'll close out the
bug report.
