Just to confrim a couple things:
how are you running checkbox? (from the app lens, from cli, or some other
means?)
Are you passing it any options at run time?
Can you describe what happens exactly
Can you provide the output of:
sudo apt-cache policy checkbox
and finally, when you run checkbox, are you giving it your root password
when prompted? That test requires root privileges to run because it has
to mount an image directly.
