Setting back to unconfirmed.
The SATA controller is an Intel Corporation 82801G (ICH7 Family) IDE
Controller (rev 02). I don't know what to make of this. The ICH7s I've
used weren't affected by the "great rename" of Bug #116996 but it seems
awfully coincidental that you are seeing the same beahviour at the same
time as the problem started in that bug...
