I think a lot of friction is arising here because people are not
agreeing on what is the actual bug here: the fact that menus coming from
light elements in Ambiance are now also light (which, as Hernando
states, is by design and not actually a bug at all), or that light
(sub)menus are appearing where they shouldn't be based on this design
change (see my comment #35 above for example).

Perhaps the bug title/description need to be clarified so we can focus
on actual issues where menus are inconsistent with the new design, and
not just engage in a flamewar over the intended design change itself.
The latter is unproductive and inappropriate for a bug report.
