Output of 'cat /proc/acpi/battery/BAT*/*' as 'proc_acpi_battery_BAT.txt'

** Description changed:

  Binary package hint: gnome-power-manager

Ubuntu 7.04 (Feisty Fawn) on a Compaq Evo N150 as recorded here:
  http://wiki.ubuntu.com/LaptopTestingTeam/CompaqEvoN150

Battery monitor always states "Computer is running on AC power, Laptop
battery charging", the charging percentage seems to work fine.

This bug seems similar to bug# 39413, but I cannot say if it's the same.

Here is some more info based on my slapped together bug guide for laptop
battery problems, please help me improve the page:

- (bug in progress)
+ In 'System > Preferences > Power Options' I can an 'On Battery Power'
+ tab.
+
+ I'm attaching '/var/log/acpid' but can't see any mention of the battery in
there.
+ I'm attaching the output of 'cat /proc/acpi/battery/BAT*/*' as
'proc_acpi_battery_BAT.txt', the battery is detected as present and it looks
fine to me.
+
+ Battery and AC power present:
+ [EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$ cat /proc/acpi/battery/*/state
+ present: yes
+ capacity state: ok
+ charging state: charging/discharging
+ present rate: unknown
+ remaining capacity: 263 mAh
+ present voltage: 21206 mV
+ present: yes
+ capacity state: ok
+ charging state: charged
+ present rate: unknown
+ remaining capacity: 768 mAh
+ present voltage: 0 mV
+
+ Output is exactly the same with the AC cable pulled out, it still says
+ 'charging state: charging/discharging'
+
+ Also attached is the output of 'lshal -vv | lshal-vv_output.txt'
+
+ Please do also help me improve the guide for debugging laptop batteries:
