Public bug reported:
The Emacs function (menu-bar-mode -1) is supposed to disable the menu
bar. Instead, it causes the Emacs window to shrink vertically
indefinitely until it's one row small. This may be tied to the Unity
app-menu. It worked in 11.10 and is broken in 12.04.
