I bought a webcam recently, but no matter what software I try to use it
doesn't seem to work. When trying the "webcam" terminal command I get
the following:

Webcam lights up, showing activity... looks as if it is working... but
no image(s)/video. Tried using skype, pidgin, cheese and other
applications and the webcam doesn't seem to be working at all (other
applications don't display the light on the webcam). The internal mic
works fine however.
lsusb shows the following for the webcam:
Bus 003 Device 003: ID 093a:2622 Pixart Imaging, Inc.
The actual webcam is a "Genius Eye 312" however.
Just ask if you need any more information.

What I expected to happen: Webcam to work.
What happened instead: Webcam's internal mic worked, but no video/image support
