Public bug reported:
I noticed that a process named e-addressbook-factory was taking up about
100 MB on my computer. After exploring the files that were involved I
came to determine that libebook-1.2-12 was the likely culprit as it's a
component of evolution responsible for address books. I don't use
evolution and have uninstalled it but the package remains on my computer
idly sucking up resources. When I tried to uninstall it, one of the
other packages that would be uninstalled along with it was the
indicator-applet, which makes no sense as it's not using any address
book data.
My proposal based on this is to remove any evolution-related
dependencies for the indicator-applet, being a simple calendar and time
display. If someone isn't using evolution, there's no point in running a
process that does nothing or keeping any packages that aren't going to
be used in general.
