I shot a few pictures, they're not exactly like I'm used to seeing this, perhaps because I am now running Feisty. The grey main screen is not the X stipple pattern but will vary depending on where I move the cursor, sort of as if it was zoomed in to a single enormous pixel. The odd artefacts along the top of the screen are still there, perhaps more obvious than before.
