Ijsalisbury, I think, this is the same kernel version, from my early
tests. I installed (reinstalled) version from here
http://kernel.ubuntu.com/~kernel-ppa/mainline/v3.3-precise/

uname -a
Linux nb5nc6400ub 3.3.0-030300-generic #201203182135 SMP Mon Mar 19 01:43:18

And after a few minutes, my desktop just locks again. Logging from virtul
terminal and restart lightdm works, the cpu fan works (I can hear), but this
happens with current 3.2 kernel too, sometimes is real freeze without way to
restart lightdm. Myabe here is a few bugs, one with ACPI: Fan and other with
unity lock. So now I don't sure how to change tags :(
Maybe running apport-collect once again be good.

** Description changed:

I suffer from for a while of this beahvior. Everething was perfect in
Ubuntu 11.04. Since 11.10 (now with 12.04 still in development) I have a
random freeze on my desktop. Everything on the system runs fine, and
then after a while, 30-40-80 minutes the whole system locks. First
time, I was still able to move the mouse, but unable to click on
anything. Subsequent times, no response from mouse or keyboard, and
mouse pointer is gone. Sometimes I can switch ctrl+alt+F2 and login to
terminal, then restart lightdm and for next 30-40 minutes is fine.
Sometimes I can't login with ctrl+alt+F2. With Unity 2D is the same.
Now testing the system with gnome classic (no efects) and 2 days work
without freezes or locks. In the logs I can't see abnormal info.

I atach pictures, because, after reboot in the logs cant see theese
  mesages.
