So how do I fix this hard drive problem? I've seen in the web somebody suggesting the use of badblocks and fsck. How can I use them?
I've been having problems installing Linux on my PC, which currently runs Windows 7. I tried installing Linux Mint about four or so times, and was never able to get it to work. The software center would not run; Google Chrome installation did not work; Wine installation did not work, and who knows what else. Now this is the second time I try installing Ubuntu, and in both occassions the installer crashed. Now I was able to get it to install. But I haven't tried the software center yet. Thanks.
