I don't think this is a duplicate of bug #938584, because the reporter
said "When I stop typing this CPU consumption continues on for several
seconds afterwards.", implying that it does stop consuming CPU after
several seconds.
My symptom was that hud-service continues to use significant CPU even
when the HUD is not in use.
