** Description changed:
- Now that synaptic is gone from ubuntu, we need a more accessible way to
- manage updates. Thus some important synaptic features need to be brought
- back.
+ Update Manager does not let you select/deselect all updates in the list.
+ This is useful, for example, if you have time/bandwidth to install only
+ one or two applications right now.
- A) Sorting
- Sorting was a very important accessibility feature in synaptic and is also
available in almost every other major OS ranging from mint update, Mac Os
updater to Windows Update, etc.

-
- B) select/deselect ALL (which also was a feature of synaptic)
-
- In contrast ubuntu update manager is the least accessible and trying to
- manage updates with it can cause RSI (Repetitive strain injury).

+ (This report previously also covered sorting the list of updates, which
+ is tracked separately by bug 280298.)
** Changed in: update-manager (Ubuntu)
Assignee: (unassigned) => Matthew Paul Thomas (mpt)
** Summary changed:
- Accesibility: Make update list sortable and add option to select/deselect all
like in other update managers or synaptic
+ Can't select/deselect all updates, like in other update utilities
