Same Problem here. Mine is a Debian server, not Ubuntu, and there is
LVM, but no MD. Maybe this Update history could be helpful for you
because with this the problem started (I didn't reboot, so the kernel is
still the old one and I think the bug must be in libgnutls26 or in
libtasn1-3):

/var/log/apt/history.log:
Start-Date: 2012-03-27 20:51:29
Commandline: apt-get dist-upgrade
Upgrade: libgnutls26:i386 (2.8.6-1+squeeze1, 2.8.6-1+squeeze2), libtasn1-3:i386
(2.7-1, 2.7-1+squeeze+1), linux-image-2.6.32-5-openvz-686:i386 (2.6.32-41,
2.6.32-41squeeze2), linux-base:i386 (2.6.32-41, 2.6.32-41squeeze2),
firmware-linux-free:i386 (2.6.32-41, 2.6.32-41squeeze2)
