Re comment #39: I am confused as to why you think this issue is kernel related. The same problem (in my case) can be replicated at will simply by modifying display settings via ''System Settings|Display'. I tend to suspect that it is more likely to be related to 'gnome-control-center' & have just found a gnome-control-center bug filed with the same symptoms:
<https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-control-center/+bug/927159> [Giant wall of text dialog when resolution switch fails] Given that 927159 was filed 2012-02-05, this bug report should probably be tagged as a duplicate of 927159. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/958349 Title: BUG: unable to handle kernel NULL pointer dereference at 00000004 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/958349/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
