Yes, Wine is broken on your app because you intentionally told your system to not have a component required specifically for your app. Wine can work just fine without it, it's just that Wine's animated cursor features are disabled, which are only needed on some apps (most of which don't use animated cursors).
You are misunderstanding no-install-recommends. Policy says recommends is for packages that are not _strictly_ required, as in the program can possibly run without them. Any package which adds expected but not critical functionality (such as animated cursors working) thus falls under recommends. Recommends is not Suggests. There's a reason we make it default, and have for years now. If you manually disable it, then you need to also manually make sure you have what you need for the optional features you want in every app you have. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/960334 Title: Missing dependency libxcursor1:i386 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/wine1.4/+bug/960334/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
