I found a way to reproduce this 100%, simply hit a Super+<invalid key>
combination, for example Super+z.  The launcher will scroll out, the
little numbers will appear and the whole thing gets stuck there forever.
Hit Super to get the Dash, then again to get rid of it to regain
control.
