I made an attempt to reproduce this, based on the original description. Run under Ubuntu 11.10, with Checkbox 0.12.10 (the latest from -updates for that release).
Here's what I tried: - Launch checkbox-gtk. - Deselect all tests. - Select ONLY the "camera tests" category. - Run the "still" test, close the image viewer, press Next. - Press "Test" on the camera/video test. - Wait until Totem pops up and plays the video. - Look at checkbox BEFORE closing Totem. Buttons are grayed out and a pulsating progress bar says "Running camera/video". - Go back to Totem and close it - At this point, the pulsating bar disappears from Checkbox, the "Yes" radiobutton gets auto-selected, and the "previous" and "next" buttons are re-enabled. - Press "Next" - The test run continues without problems. So I was unable to reproduce the described problem :( Pete, could you try this again and see if it's happening? if you can reproduce it, please: - Let me know some more details about the system you're using (maybe Totem is not closing correctly due to some weirdness with the webcam; checkbox would remain unresponsive if it thinks Totem is still running). - Move ~/.cache/checkbox out of the way, to force Checkbox to create a new log file. - Rerun checkbox (qt or gtk, whichever you can reproduce the problem with) on the terminal, with the additional --log-level=debug parameter (only needed if you're running Precise). - Reproduce the problem. - Attach ~/.cache/checkbox/checkbox.log If there's an actual internal problem with Checkbox when running this test, chances are details will appear in the log file.
