I'm getting this error when I try to boot a vanilla-kernel without using a initrd. I have configured everything I need (chipset driver, file systems, ...). The entries in the menu.lst are fine (they're the same as for ubuntu's generic kernel - which works -, except for the initrd- line), so I don't think it's a grub-related problem.
I had no problems running my own kernel with Breezy or Dapper. This problem first occured to me in Edgy. ** Attachment added: ".config" http://launchpadlibrarian.net/7983739/.config -- [4294668.613000] Kernel panic - not syncing: VSF: Unable to mount root fs on unknown-block (0,0) https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/29319 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is a direct subscriber. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
