Public bug reported:

Bluetooth does not work in Ubuntu on Asus K43S Series laptop; it is
disabled even when it is switched on from Bluetooth settings. It may be
due to the hardware switching mechanism which is "Fn + F2" and is common
for both Wi-Fi & Bluetooth. In Windows 7, while "Fn" is pressed and held
and "F2" is pressed again and again it changes states from 'only Wi-fi
On', only Bluetooth On, both On, and both Off.

** Affects: linux (Ubuntu)
     Importance: Undecided
         Status: New
